A double-melted, low-carbon iron manufactured
under close control to minimize imperfections and non-metallic inclusions. Has
been used for machining into high-vacuum component parts having wall thickness
sections as thin as 0.020" which are perpendicular to bar length. Has good
DC magnetic properties after heat treatment.
