Carpenter Advanced Ceramics, Auburn, CA, has received Westinghouse Electric Company's 1999 Symbol of Excellence for supplying quality products to its Nuclear Fuel Business Unit in Columbia, SC. The award renews the recognition presented Carpenter previously for exemplary performance as a certified Westinghouse supplier.

In its award notification, Westinghouse told Carpenter that "the overall weighted rating of 100.0 shows your continued quality attitude in support of Commercial Nuclear Fuel Division. We commend your organization for continuing achievement, and thank you for your cooperation in solidifying our partnership as part of the Supplier Surveillance Certification Program."

Carpenter Advanced Ceramics specializes in alumina- and zirconia-based ceramics, quartz and glass materials. The subsidiary is part of Carpenter Engineered Products organization.
