Carpenter Technology Corporation manufactures a wide range of specialty materials for niche applications in the automotive, aerospace and defense, consumer products, energy, industrial and medical markets. The company is organized under two business groups.
Specialty Alloy Operations
Embracing best-in-class manufacturing practices, Carpenter’s SAO facilities in the United States, Europe and Asia produce quality cast-wrought stainless steels, high temperature (nickel, iron and cobalt-base) alloys, high-strength steels, alloy steels, magnetic and controlled expansion alloys, and tool and die steels. Other special purpose alloys include solid stainless reinforcing bar.
Product forms include bar, billet, large-diameter hollow and multi-diameter bar, wire, narrow strip, plate and fine wire and ribbon.
Performance Engineered Products
Dynamet, Incorporated is Carpenter's titanium business unit. Dynamet manufactures a range of titanium alloys in bar, wire, weld wire, fine wire, strip and precision shapes.
Carpenter Powder Products manufactures spherical gas atomized metallic powder alloys including stainless steels, superalloys, and tool and die steels. CPP added ultrafine powders to its portfolio by acquiring UltraFine Powder Technology Inc., Woonsocket, Rhode Island, in 2009.
Amega West Services manufactures and rents downhole drilling tools and components for the oil and gas industry. Founded in 2007, Amega West quickly developed a reputation for high-quality products and outstanding service. Amega West's precision machining capabilities are unmatched in the industry. Carpenter acquired this company in January 2011.
Other Services
Carpenter offers a variety of services including supply chain solutions, contract manufacturing, and conversion of customer-owned black wire, rod and bar.
